I am trying to upload a video to my website.

From your family website, just click Media --> Videos and then "upload video"

That should do the trick!

I've tried uploading video, but I get a message that says the video converting service isn't online. Are there only specific video formats that can be uploaded at this time?
Also- one feature that would be FANTASTIC is the ability to link to YouTube video..

The video uploading issue should be resolved by the end of next week.

Also, you'll be able to pull in videos from youtube and other video sites at some point in the near future, but we don't have a release date set for that enhancement yet.

I know this is off-topic to the video issue, but will there be functionality available at some point to include images in forum posts in the text editor?

I'll pass that on to see if it is something that we can add to our road-map, but are you aware that comments can be added to each photo? Would that accommodate what you are trying to do or do you have a different purpose in mind?

Yep, I know that comments can be added to photos. Main reason is that sometimes, lets say to summarize an event, just adding a photo to an article (either in the forum or in a homepage article) helps punctuate the text, and also to have a photo in the context of the text, not vice-versa.

As well, I do find the fact that when you return from viewing a photo using an album sort in the photos media link that you return to a list of ALL the photos again to be rather irritating. Last comment on photos- a slideshow feature of some sort for an album sort would be nice.

Anyways, a rainbow with a pot of gold at the end in my back yard would be nice, too!

I've got two uploaded videos (avi & mpg4), sitting for hours in main Video directory, churning away, trying to convert. Something is hanging up. I'd just as soon do the converting myself with a utility I have, which converts to every video format. What is the format you convert to? With current problem, how do I stop process and delete the two files?

This problem has been resolved. When you upload you videos they should be converted and viewable within a few minutes.
